Global Wind Day is a holiday which celebrates wind energy. It is coordinated by the European Wind Energy Association – EWEA – and the Global Wind Energy Council – GWEC. Even though it originated in Europe, more and more countries around the world including the United States, Canada, Argentina, South Africa, India, and Nepal (to name a few) are hosting Global Wind Day events this year. This is the description of Global Wind Day by the EWEA and GWEC:
Thousands of individuals are involved in the production of energy from the wind, but for many people, wind energy is a mystery. Global Wind Day is the day when you can visit wind farms, meet experts, attend events, take actions to support wind energy and find out everything you want to know about wind energy.
