I would like to think not, as my grades are good and I love social media. This awesome infographic explains how (and if) we students are affected negatively by social media in the realms of grades, extra curricular, emotions, addiction, self esteem, and study habits. I am most impressed by the uses of twitter. This infographic explains that students in classes who want to collaborate online, especially on twitter, have a higher grade point average than those who don’t. Sounds great to me, I would love to use twitter in more classes! I have utilized blogging, GoogleDocs, twitter, facebook, and skype in one class alone and would love to see social media advance as a learning tool in the last two years of college.
