Exploration: Boulder, CO

Welcome to my week of outdoor explorations! Not long ago, my sister, Charlotte, came out to visit me in Boulder. We spent the week exploring Colorado and New Mexico, so stay tuned for a new post every day this week that catalogs our trip.

First stop: Boulder. As soon as I got Charlotte off the plane, we hiked up the Flatirons 1 and 2 trail from Chautauqua Park trailhead near downtown Boulder.

The trail winds up through red rocks and crosses over a few streams, and you can see your destination from many points on the switch-back trail.

I did experience a bit of altitude sickness, so we had to stop at this avalanche chute to catch our breath.

Once we made it to the top, the views of Boulder below were beautiful!
